Coupling pole
Coupling pole The wooden beam, often an oak two-by-four, that connected the front and rear wagon axles. It usually was long enough to stick out a bit past the end of wagon box, and was a favorite place for boys to stand. The reach of a buggy was really two pieces—more in the order of wagon Hawns, except longer and lighter. They connected the front of the buggy to each end of the rear axle.EncyclopediaSeereachMedicalSeeREACH |
