Her main works of political philosophy and social analysis are The Origins ofTotalitarianism (1951), The Human Condition (1958) and On Revolution (1965). In the first of these, she identified modern totalitarianism as distinguished by IDEOLOGY as well as by violence, employed to create a regime of terror. In the second, she argued that philosophy and politics are not opposed and stressed the importance of political participation. In the third, she advanced a controversial account of the French and American revolutions. |
