Course Project
Course Project
an independent study project carried out during an academic year (course, semester) by students of higher technical schools and technicums under the supervision of their professors and instructors. It consists of a graphic part (drawings) and an explanatory summary. A course project may be a technical-economic analytical comparison of different engineering or technical solutions, a plan for a structure, or calculations for designs of structures, machinery, or equipment (including the planning and regulation of production). The course projects are assigned on an individual basis. In most educational institutions students complete four or five course projects during their term of study.
Course projects help to reinforce the students’ theoretical knowledge and develop their ability to apply this knowledge to the solution of practical problems. It prepares them for their diploma project and for independent work in their chosen field and promotes the development of their creative abilities.
