Anui Range

Anui Range

a mountain range in the northern Altai Mountains; located between the valleys of the Anui and Peschanaia rivers (left-hand tributaries of the Ob). Average elevations are from 900 m in the northwest to 1,600 m in the southeast; the highest elevation is 1,815 m. The Anui Range is about 130 km long. It is composed primarily of metamorphic limestone and Silurian shale, with granite intrusions. Low mountain landscapes with small-leaved forests and areas of meadowlike steppes predominate. In the south there are midmountain regions with deciduous forests.
