DAPLD Domestically Acquired Particulate Lung Disease. Also commonly called hut lung. A pneumoconiosis of mixed aetiology associated with regular inhalation of smoke from wood fires, possibly linked to silica particles inhaled while hand grinding maize. DAPLD may be the most significant environmentally attributable disorder in the world, with 3 billion people at risk.
