Darbazi
Darbazi
an ancient type of folk dwelling that was common in the mountain areas of southern and eastern Georgia (and also on the territory of the Iuzhnaia Ossetia Autonomous Oblast, where it is called erdoiani sakhli). The darbazi is found even in the 20th century. A distinctive trait of the dwelling is its roof, a wooden dome composed of receding layers called gvirgvini. The darbazi housed residential and service quarters under the same roof.
