Finite-Life Real Estate Investment Trust

Finite-Life Real Estate Investment Trust (FREIT)

A Real Estate Investment Trust whose priority is to sell its holdings within a specified period to realize capital gains.

Finite-Life Real Estate Investment Trust

A real estate investment trust (REIT) designed to sell all of its assets within a certain period of time in order to profit from capital gains. Before the assets are sold, the revenue for REITs comes mainly from rents on the properties it owns. Like all REITs, a finite-life REIT may be traded as if it were a stock. Owning a REIT is more liquid than directly owning the real estate underlying it.
