He is best known for his chronicle plays, including Abraham Lincoln (1918), Mary Stuart (1921), and Robert E. Lee (1923). Bird in Hand, a highly successful comedy, was produced in 1927. His other works include biographical studies, a novel, and several collections of poems. |
