Boring, Edwin Garrigues
(găr`ĭgyo͞oz'), 1886–1968, American psychologist, b. Philadephia. He taught experimental psychology at Clark Univ. (from 1919) and at Harvard (1922–68). Boring was strongly influenced by Edward TitchenerTitchener, Edward Bradford, 1867–1927, American psychologist, b. Chichester, England, grad. Oxford, 1890. Other important works include Physical Dimensions of Consciousness (1933), and his memoirs, Psychologist at Large (1961).
