dashpot throttle dashpot throttleA dashpot consists of a sliding servo-controlled throttle valve whose position is determined by a control valve attached to the pilot's throttle lever. During initial acceleration the control valve restricts the flow of throttle servo fuel to low pressure. This is sensed by barometric control unit, which increases pump stroke to just below surge line. During final acceleration the control valve increases servo pressure bypassing hp (high pressure) fuel to throttle servo through two restrictors instead of one.A type of acceleration control unit in an engine control system. It consists of a sliding servo-controlled throttle valve whose position is determined by a control valve attached to the pilot's throttle lever. If the throttle is moved rapidly and at a rate more rapid than desired, the slide valve will move at a slower rate to ensure that the engine does not malfunction. |
