Chronicle of Pereiaslavl’-Suzdal’skii

 

a chronicle preserved in a 15th-century manuscript entitled Chronicle of the Russian Tsars. The beginning of the chronicle (up to the year 907) is found in one other 15th-century manuscript. The Chronicle of Pereiaslavl’-Suzdal’skii proper covers events that occurred in northeastern Rus’ from 1138 through 1214. Compiled in 1216–19, it is one of the oldest extant chronicles. It is based on a Vladimir chronicle codex of the early 13th century related to the Radziwill Chronicle, which was reworked in Pereiaslavl’-Suzdal’skii (Zalesskii) to include local events and certain other material.
