Erciyes Dagi
Erciyeş Daği
a volcanic massif in Turkey, on the Anatolian Plateau. Erciyeş Daği, called Mount Argaeus in antiquity, rises to an elevation of 3,916 m. It has 28 cones on its slopes. The last eruption was in the first century B.C. A glacier descends to 3,300 m. Fields, orchards, and vineyards are cultivated at the foothills and on the lower slopes.
