Location:7 miles south of Pikeville.
Facilities:Group and individual picnic sites, shelters, basketball court.
Activities:Fishing, picnicking.
Special Features:The man-made Fishtrap Lake was created during the 1960s tohelp control flooding along the Ohio and Big Sandy Rivers. The park issituated among mountains and dense forests, and the natural protectionof the area drew early settlers of all types here, including Kentuckypioneers as well as Native Americans. Throughout years of periodicexcavation, more than 65,000 relics from early inhabitants have beenfound.
