Fagnano

(also Cami), a lake of tectonic and glacial origin on the island of Tierra del Fuego. Most of Lake Fagnano, which occupies an area of 593 sq km, is in the Argentine part of Tierra del Fuego; its western extremity is in the Chilean part. The lake was named after the Italian explorer G. Fagnano, who discovered it in 1886.
