Engels Peak

a peak in the Shakhdara Range, in the southwestern Pamirs, in the Tadzhik SSR. Engels Peak has an elevation of 6,510 m. It is composed of gneisses and schists. There are glaciers in the vicinity of the peak on the northern and southern slopes of the Shakhdara Range. At the northern base of the peak is the Naspar Glacier, which has an area of 5.1 sq km, and at the southern base is the Kishtidzharob Glacier, which has an area of 8.3 sq km.
