Compensation Payments

Compensation Payments

according to Soviet labor law, payments made to reimburse a worker for expenditures borne by him during the performance of his labor functions. Compensation payments include payments related to official trips (per diem payments, travel expenditures, the cost of housing) and one-time grants (the removal grants paid to those being transferred to work in a different place, or payment for work clothing not issued at the proper time if the worker has purchased it at his own expense). Compensation payments are made either in the amount of the expenditures actually incurred (for example, the cost of travel and housing during business trips within the maximum amounts established by law) or in fixed amounts regardless of actual expenditures (for example, per diem payments during business trips). No withholdings are permitted from compensation payments.
