(Faizabad), a city in northeastern Afghanistan, situated in an oasis on the Kokcha River. Administrative center of Badakhshan Province. Population, 60,000 (1966). Feyzabad is linked by road to the main circular highway connecting Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, and Mazari-i-Sharif. The city has flour mills and produces leather and wool. Feyzabad is also a commercial center.
