ac·ro·os·te·ol·y·sis

(ak'rō-os-tē-ol'i-sis), [MIM*102400] Congenital condition manifested by palmar and plantar ulcerating lesions with osteolysis involving distal phalanges of the fingers and toes. Acquired acroosteolysis has been reported in workers exposed to vinyl chloride. There is an autosomal disorder, Cheney syndrome [MIM*102500], in which this finding is combined with sutural (wormian) bones, hypoplasia of the mandibular rami, and basilar osteoporosis.
