The cash reserve ratio comprises TILL MONEY (notes and coins held by the bank) and its operational BALANCES WITH THE BANK OF ENGLAND. The cash reserve ratio is a narrowly defined RESERVE ASSET RATIO that can be used by the monetary authorities to control the MONETARY BASE of the economy.
