Daulpaz
Daulpaz
an ancient Kazakh percussion instrument similar to a small kettledrum, with a conical metal body and leather membrane (the instrument is known as the daulbas among the Kirghiz and chindaul among the Uzbeks). It was used as a signaling instrument in war and to make noise in hunting. A reconstructed daulpaz has been introduced into the Kurman-Gaza Orchestra of Kazakh Folk Instruments.
