Daurat or Dorat, Jean

(both: zhäN dōrä`), 1508?–1588, French classical scholar. He taught (1546–56) at the Collège de Coqueret at Paris. Among his pupils were the poets Ronsard, Du Bellay, Baïf, and Belleau, who included him in the Pléiade (see under PleiadPleiad
