Brachysyncline
brachysyncline
[‚brak·i′sin‚klīn]Brachysyncline
a short synclinal fold of layers of rock having an oval cross section. The layers of rock that form the brachysyncline slope toward the center on all sides. A brachysyncline is represented on a geological map in the form of concentric oval rings, with the younger rocks located in the center; the rocks become progressively older toward the periphery.
