Agababian, Suren Bardukhovich

Born Jan. 22, 1922, in the city of Karaklis, which is present-day Kirovakan. Soviet Armenian literary scholar and critic. Member of the CPSU since 1949. Doctor of philology.

Agababian is the author of monographs on A. Bakunts (1963; Russian translation, 1965), two books of articles of literary criticism—Responses (1963) and Literature and Contemporary Life (1965)—and many articles on modern Armenian literature. He is also one of the authors of The History of Soviet Armenian Literature (vols. 1–2, 1961–65; Russian translation, 1966).
