Castleman's tumour

Castleman's tumour

Benign, hyaline, giant lymph node hyperplasia. The condition is frequently associated with the autoimmune mucocutaneous disease PEMPHIGUS and this usually improves markedly if the tumour is removed. It is presumed that the Castleman's tumour secretes autoantibodies against epidermal proteins. (Benjamin Castleman, 1906–1982, American pathologist).
