allergic stomatitis al·ler·gic sto·ma·ti·tis (ă-lĕrjik stōmă-tītis) A type I hypersensitivity reaction to a systemically administered drug or to a food. Oral manifestations vary and may resemble erythema multiforme, lichen planus, or lupus erythematosus, with a dry shiny red patch and sometimes white patches as well. Painful condition often involves buccal and labial mucosa and gingiva, but may affect the complete oral cavity. |
