Brandt Report
Brandt ReportA 1980 report recommending more transfer of resources between developed and developing countries. It criticized developed countries' export of finished goods while developing nations export primarily intermediate goods and raw material. The report claimed that this perpetuated the division between the two parts of the world. The report divided the world into the developed global north (which included the Northern Hemisphere plus Australia and New Zealand), and an impoverished global south (including most of the Southern Hemisphere). |
