day-case admission
A patient admission in the UK which marks the start of a day-case episode of care, in which the patient is:(1) admitted from outside the NHS as a waiting list admission, the usual scenario, or
(2) from an NHS inpatient service in the same or another hospital, a so-called day-case transfer-in, or
(3) by direct access from a GP.
