a fluorescent lamp, with a bluish glow. Two types of such lamps are being manufactured in the USSR: type LDTs (daylight, with correct color rendition) and type LD (daylight). Lamps of the LD type do not provide correct color rendition of the objects being illuminated; they are used for general lighting, particularly in southern regions (because of the cold color of the glow). Lamps of the LTDs type are used to illuminate objects for which the exact rendition of color hues is important, particularly where the colors are in the blue and pale-blue spectral regions (deluxe and superdeluxe models). The light output of LDTs lamps is 10–15 percent lower than that of LD lamps. Such lamps are used for lighting production areas. The term “daylight lamp” is often incorrectly applied to all types of fluorescent lamps.
