Bratskie Liudi
(fraternal people), the name of the Buriats (Bulagats, Ekhirites, Khorintsy, and others) who roamed the vast territories on both sides of Lake Baikal in the 17th and 18th centuries. Their name has been preserved in the present-day name of the city of Bratsk, which was built not far from the old Bratsk fort.
