Brazilian Basin

a depression in the bottom of the southern part of the Atlantic Ocean, west of the South Atlantic Ridge. It extends approximately 3,000 km from north to south and is 6,537 m at its deepest point. The ocean bottom is covered with red clay in the east and foraminiferous silts in the west.
