(ā-gam'ă-glob'yū-li-nē'mē-ă) Absence of, or extremely low levels of, the gamma fraction of serum globulin; sometimes used loosely to denote absence of immunoglobulins in general.

agammaglobulinaemia

Complete absence of the normal blood gamma globulin proteins. The gamma globulins are IMMUNOGLOBULINS (ANTIBODIES) their absence leads to a dangerous susceptibility to infection-immune deficiency.
