Druzhkovka

a city (since 1938) in Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located at the confluence of the Kazennyi Torets and Krivoi Torets rivers in the basin of the Severskii Donets. There is a railroad station on the Slaviansk-Nikitovka line. Population, 53,000 (1970). It has plants for machine building (mining equipment) and for the production of metal articles and natural gas equipment. There is a chamotte factory and a brickyard. A porcelain plant has been under construction since 1972. Druzhkovka is the site of technicums for machine building and for construction and municipal services. Clay is extracted nearby.
