Aself-guided trail leads to Balancing Rock, a large granite rock thathas long been a natural attraction on Lake Tahoe's western shore. Thegranite of this large rock has weathered more rapidly at the jointplane, leaving a 130-ton overlying rock balanced on the rock below.From promontories such as Rubicon Point, visitors can see over onehundred feet into the depths of Lake Tahoe.
