Citation for underaged drinking

Question

Country: United States of America
State: WisconsinI was issued a citation for underage drinking and as I was getting my ID the police noticed that I had my brothers ID card in my wallet also. I was holding on to the card for him as he had left it in my room from the last time he visited. I am 18 years old and he is 21 so the police figured I had been using the ID to purchase alcohol, which was not the case. They then issued me another citation for an ID card violation. In court I pled not-guilty to the ID charge and have a pretrial scheduled. Was just possessing the ID enough evidence to find me guilty, or because it was my brother's ID that I was just holding for him is there anything I might argue to get the charges dropped?

Answer

Just having it is normally not an issue...you might get that dropped...
