a machine for spreading granulated and powdered inorganic fertilizers during preplanting soil treatment and for topdressing of grain crops and grasses. The machine may also be used to spread lime. Broadcasters with revolving-bottom distribution mechanisms are the most common in the USSR. Dry-fertilizer broadcasters are drawn by tractors of the 1.4 ton-force class. The broadcaster has an operating width of 4.2 m, and a tractor-broadcaster unit can cover 4.20 hectares per hr at a speed of 10 km/hr.
