Cretan-Mycenaean Culture
Cretan-Mycenaean Culture
or the Aegean culture, conventional terms for the culture of Ancient Greece during the Bronze Age (c. 2800–1100 B.C.). The term “Aegean culture” is used more often. Differences in the culture’s remains in various parts of Greece have made it possible to distinguish its geographic variants: the culture of Crete was called Minoan; that of mainland Greece, Helladic; and that of the islands in the Aegean Sea, Cycladic.
