Ersaryev, Orazgel’dy
Born Mar. 6 (19), 1900; died Feb. 5, 1978. Innovator in kolkhoz methods of production; chairman of the Thalmann Kolkhoz in Leninsk Raion, Tashauz Oblast, Turkmen SSR, beginning in 1937. Twice Hero of Socialist Labor (1947, 1957). Member of the CPSU from 1943.
Under Ersaryev’s leadership the Thálmann Kolkhoz had stable cotton harvests. The harvest was 48.6 quintals per hectare (ha) from an area of 730 ha in 1948; 39.2 quintals per ha (from 1,630 ha) in 1957; and 50.2 quintals per ha (from 2,200 ha) in 1976.
Ersaryev was a deputy to the second through sixth convocations of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Turkmenistan. In addition to six Orders of Lenin and two other orders, Ersaryev was awarded various medals of the Exhibition of the Achievements of the National Economy of the USSR, including five large gold medals and three gold medals.
