(vols. 1–3, Moscow, 1952–64). The publication of this collection completes the publication of all documents from the end of the 14th century to 1505 that had been discovered or previously published. Some documents not included in the present collection have been published in the collections Charters of Novgorod the Great and Pskov, Testaments and Treaties of the Grand Dukes and Independent Princes From the 14th to the 16th Century, and Documents of Feudal Land Ownership and Economy From the 14th to the 16th Century. The moving force for this collection was the goal of publishing all the materials to be found in historical archives. The collection reprinted documents of the Troitse-Sergievo, Kirillo-Belozersk, and other monasteries and of private individuals. These documents constitute an important source for the study of the history of feudal land-ownership, of the conditions of the peasants, and of the administration of justice and law. The chief compilers of the collection were S. B. Veselovskii (vol. 1) and I. A. Golubtsov.
