Flax Spreader
Flax Spreader
a machine for spreading flax straw from sheaves into a strip on the field. In the USSR the LRM-2 machine is used. It has a table on which the straw is spread manually, feed-control devices with toothed disks to feed the straw to the toothed layer-shaping wheels, which deliver batches of straw to the gripping conveyors, which in turn spread it on the field in the form of a strip, and adjusting wheels that copy the relief of the field. The machine is mounted on a biaxial tractor trailer. The operating parts are driven by chain gears from the back wheels of the trailer. The operating width of the flax spreader is two strips of flax. Its productivity is up to 1 hectare per hour, and it takes one tractor driver and four workers to operate the machine.
