Cattle Shelter

Cattle Shelter

(in Russian, tyrlo or stoibishche), a place in which cattle can rest when out to pasture, usually located near a body of water. Permanent shelters have fences and rooflike covers and are equipped with feed and water troughs. Temporary shelters are constructed in hollows during cold weather to protect the animals from wind, and during hot weather they are built in elevated locations to give the animals the benefit of breezes.
