Rikhter, Dmitrii Ivanovich
Born Oct. 25 (Nov. 6), 1848, in Moscow; died July 2, 1919, in the city of Pushkin. Russian statistician and economist.
Rikhter’s main works included An Attempt to Divide European Russia Into Regions According to Natural and Economic Characteristics (1898). In 1909, Rikhter began compiling a Geographic Dictionary of Russia, of which six volumes appeared (1909–11).
