the ability to consume varied vegetable and animal food, characteristic of humans and a number of animal species. Euryphagy is typical of several vertebrates, for example, the wild boar, Eurasian brown bear, and raven. Invertebrates characterized by europhagy include synanthropic species of cockroaches and termites. Euryphagy is an extreme degree of polyphagy.
