Erubaev, Sattar

Born in 1914, in Village No. 21, in present-day Turkestan Raion, Chimkent Oblast; died June 2, 1937, in Alma-Ata. Soviet Kazakh writer.

In 1933, Erubaev graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Philosophy, Linguistics, and History. In the novel My Peers (1939; Russian translation, 1957), he describes the life and labor of the young people who built up Karaganda, the coal-producing center of Kazakhstan.
