Diaklo

(Lithuanian, doklas), a fixed sum of grain paid by the peasantry of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to the grand duke until the middle of the 16th century. It was levied on the basis of large landholding units known as sluzhby or dvorishcha. The level of payment varied: in 1510, for example, the amount paid was four barrels of rye and four of oats. In the second half of the 16th century, it lost its old significance and continued to exist simply as a form of payment in kind.
