fluid duplicating

[¦flü·əd ′düp·lə‚kād·iŋ] (graphic arts) A system in which a master is produced by placing a special aniline-dye carbon paper under a sheet of coated paper; the carbon is placed face up, so that when the coated paper is typed or written on, a reversed copy is produced on the back of the sheet; a certain amount of dye from the carbon paper is transferred to the master, from which the copies are printed directly.
