Cayo Costa State Park
Location:Directly south of Boca Grande and west of Pine Island and North Fort Myers; accessible only by private boat or passenger ferry.
Facilities:Primitive campsites (tents, cabins, yurts), restrooms, showers, baysidedockage, kayak rental, picnic tables, pavilions, beach, trails, amphitheater, giftshop.
Activities:Camping, boating, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, swimming, snorkeling,scuba diving, hiking, bicycling, shelling, wildlifeviewing, interpretive programs.
Special Features:Park is a barrier island with more than 9 miles of beaches and acres of pineforests, oak-palm hammocks, and mangrove swamps, as well as aspectacular assortment of birds. Visitors might also see manatees orpods of dolphins in the waters around the park.
