A gene on chromosome 16p12.3 that encodes a protein of respiratory cilia, which produces force towards the minus ends of microtubules; the force-producing power stroke is thought to occur on release of ADP. DNAH3 is involved in sperm motility and part of the sperm flagellar assembly.
