[′krid·ə·kəl ′slōp] (civil engineering) The maximum angle with the horizontal at which a sloped bank of soil of a given height will remain undeformed without some form of support. (hydrology) The channel slope or grade that is equal to the loss of head per foot resulting from flow at a depth which will provide uniform flow at critical depth.
