In southwestern AK at head of Kvichak Bay, an inlet of the Bering Sea, west of Katmai National Park. Name Origin: For the bay, named in 1778 by Capt. James Cook (1728-79) for the Earl of Bristol (England). Formerly the Bristol Bay Borough Division.
