Location:7 miles east of Macomb.
Facilities:86 Class A campsites with showers and electricity, 24 Class B/E sites(electrical hookups), 18 Class C campsites with vehicle access andrestrooms, 31 Class D (primitive) campsites, an equestrian campground,restrooms with showers, 10 picnic areas, 3 group shelters, playground,concession stand, hiking trails (5 miles), equestrian trails (7 miles),boat and canoe rentals, boat launch, docks, visitor center.
Activities:Camping, fishing, boating (10 HP limit), canoeing, hiking,horseback riding, hunting, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, icefishing, cross-country skiing, interpretive programs.
Special Features:The portion of the park now occupied by its 93-acre lake was oncecalled Argyle Hollow and was part of the old stagecoach route betweenGalena and Beardstown. When the state purchased the land in 1948, a damwas erected that created the lake.
